The economics of data

Promo e-mail came in from O2, my mobile phone operator. They currently give me one single, paltry megabyte of data to play with. Each month.
The O2 Web Bolt On gives you unlimited internet access on your mobile for a flat rate of just £7.50 a month.
£7.50 is half the cost of my current monthly tarriff, and is equivalent to what it would cost me to talk for 37½ minutes outside of my barely-used, 400-minute monthly call allowance.

And this is why I won't be paying for unlimited mobile data for a good long while.
