It killed me to receive three packages then leave for university for most of the afternoon. I then had to wait until at least 8pm, as I had promised a fellow Mac enthusiast friend of mine a piece of the opening ceremony action. After lots of opening boxes, unpacking various gubbins and putting the pieces together, I now sit alone in the sofa with a new computer on my lap.
After all the unpacking, there was a slight amount of panic when I tried to access the Base Station to lock down the wireless network, only to be told it couldn't be accessed; that was until I looked up the relevant Knowledge Base article, which told me the computer had to be directly connected to the Base Station via Ethernet in order so I could administer settings.
Best of all, I write and post this entry, all without any wires coming out of the computer. And djw, I notice no dead pixels either. Everything is crystal-clear and perfect.
Everybody, please welcome to the world my new Apple PowerBook G4, which today arrived five weeks to the day since I ordered it.
